An initiative dedicated to cycle tourism: every Sunday in July and August (from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm), the most scenic section of State Road 36 between Campodolcino and Pianazzo (Madesimo) is closed to motorised traffic and reserved exclusively for cyclists and pedestrians.
The initiative allows visitors to ride the historic hairpin bends of the road, designed more than a century ago by Carlo Donegani, in complete safety while enjoying the landscape without the presence of cars or motorcycles. Those wishing to continue can follow the old pedestrian road from Pianazzo to Madesimo or, for more experienced cyclists, continue to Alpe Motta and Lago Azzurro.
Participation is free, no registration is required, and the event is completely free of charge.
