30th Anniversary of Primalpia Bivouac

Verceia

A special milestone for the mountains of Valchiavenna: Primalpia Bivouac, located at 1,980 metres above sea level in the upper Ratti Valley, celebrates the 30th anniversary of its opening. Built in 1995 by the Novate Mezzola section of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), the bivouac is still maintained by the same organisation today.

Set in a stunning Alpine landscape and surrounded by peaks such as Pizzo Ligoncio, Cima del Calvo and Monte Spluga, the bivouac has been a landmark for hikers and mountain enthusiasts for the past three decades.

A day of celebration and memories to honour the history of the bivouac and the strong connection between the community of Verceia and the surrounding mountains.
